There are many things that the majority of people might name as a “pet peeve”, and using Facebook as a diary is probably in the top ten. There are so many posts made on Facebook that are supposed to “vent” or “rant” about feelings or are used to “tell people how they really feel” or to somehow point out to people who are their friends with them that they are angry with them.
Do people not realize that this does nothing but make others think that you are uneducated and childish? Grow up, and actually express your problems or successes to people in face to face conversations. Our generation is becoming a weak, pathetic group of people that is unable to communicate to others how they feel without the use of social media platforms such as Facebook.
With this form of passive aggressive speech, we are no longer able to have a mature conversation with the certain people that we have issues with. You don’t need to put something on Facebook that you don’t actually want other people to know about, it makes it look like you want attention.
Another thing you don’t need to put on Facebook is what you ate and how much you worked out. No one is going to dedicate the time out of their busy day to congratulate you in the way you may feel you need to be congratulated. I promise. If you ate a carton of ice cream all by yourself because you were lonely, good job, I’m proud of you. The world doesn’t need to know.
If you ran 8 miles and burned a few calories, again good job, but stop making the rest of us feel bad. You may think you are motivating the rest of us but really you are just annoying us or making us want to go eat a carton of ice cream so we can then post it to Facebook because we feel like we have nothing better to do with our lives.
Faceook is not your personal diary, please find something else to do with your life. If you wouldn’t share it with someone in a face to face conversation, it shouldn’t be on Facebook.
