A lot of people will agree with me that avocados are one of the best foods to eat. To clarify, I’ve recently started eating avocados. I used to eat avocados only on sushi, but at the beginning of summer, I tried avocado plain for the first time. It was creamy and delicious. A couple of weeks after that, I walked to the ice cream shop Sweet Peaks. One of their flavors was lime-avocado and it turned out to be the best ice cream flavor I’ve ever tasted!
I’ve learned some fun things about avocados since then. The website Green Blender reported that on average 53.5 million pounds of avocados are eaten every year on the Super Bowl. That’s equivalent to the weight of 89,166 Asian Elephants. Another fun fact: avocados contain 4 grams of protein, the most found in any fruit.
Now you might be wondering, “Hey Darren, what if I like apples or oranges?” Well I’ve got news for you buddy, you should just leave. You think apples are healthy? They only contain vitamin A, C, and Iron. Avocados contain fiber, vitamin B6, C, E, and potassium.
Another reason why avocados are the best fruit is because you can put them in loads of other foods. You can put them on or in anything from hamburgers and tacos, to breakfast sandwiches and sushi. But we can’t forget the best dish of all with avocados: guacamole. People have been enjoying guacamole for years and years. There are dozens of recipes and all of them have one main ingredient: avocados! That’s why it’s tremendously great. Plus, you can dip so many different things in it. Chips, tortillas, flatbread, pita bread, and even pretzels or Goldfish if you want to get creative. Who would’ve thought avocados could be so innovative?
So, let’s recap for a second. A) Avocados are one of the best foods to eat. B) You can put avocados in loads of other foods like ice cream and tacos. C) All around, avocados are great and you should appreciate them as much as I do.
