The football team suffered a tough, but a close loss to the number two ranked Glacier last Friday in their homecoming game.
After a back and forth scoring frenzy throughout the entire four quarters, Sentinel and Glacier were tied 56-56, sending them into overtime. Quarterback Mitch Roberts ran a five yard run, putting Sentinel six ahead of Glacier. In the end, Sentinel was unable to block Glacier’s field goal and lost the game 63-62.
Head Coach Dane Oliver remains positive despite a few tough losses.
He said, “We want to play our best football at the end of the season. I just want to see that continuous improvement.”
Although Sentinel lost to Glacier, the team showed major improvement offensively. With continuous improvement Sentinel hopes to win the rest of the season and make a big run in the playoffs.
Oliver has been with these seniors their entire high school football career and in terms of how they’ve changed he said, “I just think maturity level. By the time they’re seniors they kind of know expectations and nothing’s really new to them. They know how to conduct themselves on and off the field. After four years you’ve built relationships with them.”
