When you think of models and modeling you think of Los Angeles, New York City, and Paris, but what you may not think of is Sentinel High School.
Sentinel has its very own professional model, Senior Caroline Kiemele, who currently works for local modeling agency Rocky Mountain Entertainment Agency out in Polson, and Envy Model Management in Los Angeles.
Caroline, who has been modeling for two years, was recruited by a woman scouting for her modeling agency in Polson when they were both attending a Methodist church in Havre.
“At first I didn’t plan on being a model because I thought modeling was shallow and I was really kind of against it, but my friends motivated me and thought that I could really be one,” Caroline said.
After attending the agency’s workshop, Caroline was offered a contract and decided to give it a try.
Recently, Caroline modeled during Fashion Week in LA and walked the runway in 12 shows for Envy Model Management.
“Some advantages are when you get to travel a lot and I get to meet all these people that I would never thought I would meet,” Caroline said. “You just learn a lot, like I’m going out to New York and learning how to be on my own and everything.”
However, Caroline feels there are several disadvantages as well.
She said, “Disadvantages are money and definitely eating healthy and staying in shape.”
In the future, Caroline plans to model for a few more years before attending college. Caroline will graduate in January and has a few contract offers out in New York.
Caroline has received interest from MSA Models, New York Model Management, Major Model Management, and Elite Model Management. She plans to sign with an agency after graduation.
Caroline hasn’t let the modeling go to her head. For now, she plans to simply see where this ride takes her for as long as she can.
“My goals for being a model is that I’m just kind of doing this for a cool and experience and seeing how it goes,” she said.
However, her goal is to turn her experience into becoming a role model for other young girls.
“Hopefully I want to be a role model for other girls going into this industry because it’s kind of hard going into a big city. You’re confused and on your own,” Caroline said. “Also people are telling you what to do and you try to figure out your values for modeling.”
